Why India?

India is home to the world's greatest and most diverse botanicals. Many of the herbs and spices that stock spice cabinets the world over are sourced from India. The flavors that have influenced our meals, medicine and livelihoods come from India. It is the birthplace of flavor and one of our favorite cocktails, the Gin & Tonic. Gin & Tonic’s roots are intertwined with India’s rich history. The drink was discovered in India, surprisingly as a need of the hour rather than a creative pursuit; tonic water, containing quinine was a medicine used by British soldiers to survive Malaria. The later additions of botanical garnish, citrus and other herbs to the G&T were to create a more palatable drink for mass consumption.
